Sriracha Broccoli

This sriracha broccoli gives this common side dish the right amount of zing. So instead of just throwing some butter on your broccoli give this sriracha broccoli a try.

Ingredients

  • 1 head of broccoli 4 1/2 cups
  • 1/2 cup sriracha
  • 1 1/2 TBSP of vegetable oil
  • 1 TBSP of soy sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  • Cut off stem of broccoli and cut the head into bite size pieces
  • Mix together sriracha, oil and soy sauce in a small bowl
  • Add broccoli and sriracha mixture in a large plastic freezer bag and mix around to get all the broccoli evenly coated with the mixture
  • Grease a baking sheet and lay out broccoli evenly on pan and put in oven for 10 minutes then stir and cook for another 5 minutes

Notes

  • Used fresh broccoli for this recipe. If you use frozen broccoli it will be real watery which will not hold the sriracha sauce well. Plus frozen broccoli is usually already cooked and this recipe is for uncooked broccoli
  • You can mix the broccoli and the sriracha mixture in a bowl but using a plastic bag is so much easier. Plus it makes for an easier clean up
  • The tips of the broccoli will start to cook faster so keep an eye on it towards the end of the cooking, but 15 minutes is just about the right amount
  • If you want a really strong spicy sriracha taste cut the soy sauce and oil in half. It will be spicy though.
