Sausage And Cabbage Skillet

This sausage and cabbage skillet is a quick and easy meal you can whipped up in 15 minutes. Just throw all the ingredients in one pan for a quick dinner.

Ingredients

  • 8 cups red cabbage
  • 1 lb cooked sausage
  • 4 TBSP butter
  • 2 TBSP red wine vinegar
  • 3 TSP Tony's Cajun seasoning

Instructions

  • Chop up red cabbage 
  • Melt butter to a pan over medium high heat 
  • Add cabbage, red wine vinegar, and Tony's seasoning and cook for 5 minutes 
  • Add sausage and cook for another 5 minutes

Notes

  • If you need some time saving tips you can always cut your cabbage and sausage ahead of time and store them in ziploc bags until you are ready to cook later.
  • I believe 10 minutes cooking is perfect for this recipe because the cabbage still has a little crunch. But if you like softer cabbage cook the cabbage alone for an extra 10 minutes.
  • You can always add onions to this recipe if you prefer. Add them right after the butter has melted and cook for 10 minutes before adding the cabbage.
  • And of course you can substitute the red cabbage for green cabbage if that is more to your liking.
  • I personally buy the pre cooked smoked turkey sausage, but favorite sausage is Polska kielbasa and if it was up to picking the best tasting this would be it.
  • Also if you have any leftover sausage, like I did one time from some BBQ we ordered, that is great too.
