Ingredients

  • 4 boneless chicken breast
  • 1 lb fresh asparagus
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • lemon wedges for garnish

Instructions

  • Season the chicken chunks with salt, black pepper, paprika, cumin, and chili powder on both sides.
  • Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat
  • Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for about 6-8 minutes or until browned on all sides and cooked through.
  • Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside on a plate
  • Add the asparagus to the same skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes or until slightly tender
  • Add the minced garlic and honey to the skillet with the asparagus, stirring constantly, and cook for about 1-2 minutes or until the garlic is fragrant and the honey has melted and caramelized slightly.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet and toss everything together, making sure the chicken and asparagus are coated evenly with the garlic-honey mixture
  • Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes or until everything is heated through
  • Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side

Notes

  • Make sure to trim the asparagus ends before cooking to ensure even cooking and remove any woody or tough parts.
  • Season the chicken generously with salt and pepper before cooking for maximum flavor.
  • Use a large enough pan to ensure that the chicken and asparagus have room to cook evenly without overcrowding.
  • Melt the butter in the pan before adding the chicken and asparagus to create a flavorful base for the dish.
  • Stir the chicken and asparagus occasionally during cooking to ensure even browning and prevent sticking.
  • Don't overcook the asparagus - it should be bright green and tender but still slightly crisp.
  • Adjust the amount of honey and spices to your taste preferences - if you prefer a sweeter dish, add more honey, or if you like it spicier, add more chili powder or cumin.
  • Serve with a side of crusty bread or rice to soak up the delicious sauce
