Spicy Ranch Popcorn
This simple spicy ranch popcorn is perfect for your next movie night when you want to give your popcorn a little kick. Ready to eat in just minutes.
I have to say I love popcorn. I go through stints of where I will eat popcorn as a night time snack weeks in a row. Even though I’ve tried to stop that night time snacking, I’ve never stopped loving popcorn.
Popcorn can actually be a healthy snack if you don’t mind any flavor, but who doesn’t want any flavor? And don’t get me started on movie theater popcorn. Extra, extra, extra of that fake butter please. I know it is so bad for you, but tastes so good. It is just too hard to resist.
Well, this popcorn recipe tastes even better than that extra, extra, extra butter drenched popcorn that I can guarantee. And guess what? Yes, another of my recipes that involves ranch dressing seasoning. I told you I was addicted to anything with ranch dressing or ranch dressing seasoning.
You can either make this with a regular size bag of just plain popcorn or use an air popcorn machine like I did. I don’t know which I like better. Fresh popped popcorn or microwave popcorn so I can lick the inside of the bag where the flavor is left over. Either way you choose how to make your popcorn they both work great.
Simply pop your popcorn and while it’s popping mix together your canola oil, ranch dressing seasoning and red pepper flakes in a small bowl using a whisk. Once your popcorn is popped you can either put in a big bowl and pour the oil mixture over and mix up the popcorn or use a plastic freezer bag and shake around the popcorn and mixture in the bag.
Using the plastic freezer bag method will probably get a nicer even coating of ranch mixture on your popcorn, but I have just mixed it together in a bowl many of times and had just as good of results.
So next time you’re going to pop you a bag of popcorn to watch that movie give this recipe a try and get hooked just like I am.
