This sriracha broccoli has a nice twist on a favorite side dish. With only 4 ingredients and 20 minutes you can change up dinner.

I’m always looking for new side dishes to make for dinner because making the same ones over and over again gets old fast. You can check out some of my other great side dishes I use quite often.

I am also one who loves anything spicy and Sriracha is right up there on my list of favorite sauces. It goes great with so much so why not add it to some veggies and make them that much better.

What ingredients for this recipe?

  • Broccoli– I suggest using fresh broccoli for this recipe. Frozen broccoli is full of water or come already pre cooked and this recipe is for fresh broccoli
  • Sriracha Sauce– because it is called sriracha broccoli after all
  • Vegetable oil– this helps cook the broccoli and thins out the sriracha sauce
  • Soy sauce– it gives also helps the sriracha flavor not be quite as strong because sriracha sauce can get spicy in big amounts

Making the Sriracha mixture

Add the sriracha sauce to a bowl ( Photo 1) then add the vegetable oil to the bowl ( Photo 2) next the soy sauce ( Photo 3) and whisk together well ( Photo 4)

Preparing the broccoli

Add the fresh broccoli to a big ziploc bag ( Photo 1) then pour sriracha mixture into the bag on top of broccoli ( Photo 2) Seal the bag ( Photo 3) and shake the bag around to coat all the broccoli with the sriracha mixture
( Photo 4)

Cooking the broccoli

Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray ( Photo 1) Pour the broccoli mixture out on the pan ( Photo 2) and spread out evenly ( Photo 3) Cook at 400 degrees for 15 minutes stirring half way through

Tips for this recipe

  • Used fresh broccoli for this recipe. If you use frozen broccoli it will be real watery which will not hold the sriracha sauce well. Plus frozen broccoli is usually already cooked and this recipe is for uncooked broccoli
  • You can mix the broccoli and the sriracha mixture in a bowl but using a plastic bag is so much easier. Plus it makes for an easier clean up
  • The tips of the broccoli will start to cook faster so keep an eye on it towards the end of the cooking, but 15 minutes is just about the right amount
  • If you want a really strong spicy sriracha taste cut the soy sauce and oil in half. It will be spicy though.
