Chicken in a Biscuit
This chicken in a biscuit recipe is so simple to make with only 2 ingredients. Perfect for a party appetizer or a kid friendly meal.
I’m sure when you hear “chicken in a biscuit” you think of those yummy crackers that are so addicting like I do. Or sometimes I think of those chicken minis Chick-fil-a serves at breakfast.
So I thought why not take the literal term “chicken in a biscuit” and make it into a tasty appetizer. I mean who doesn’t love a little chicken bite wrapped up in some carbs?
What do I need to make Chicken in a Biscuit?
It really couldn’t get any simpler as far as ingredients for this recipe. You will only need 2 ingredients to whip these up.
- A can of biscuits (8 large ones). I chose the flaky jumbo ones with butter flavor because that is my personal favorite. You can never go wrong with butter.
- Chicken bites. I bought mine from Walmart with the Great Value brand. Chicken nuggets are usually a little too big so you want more of a bite-size chicken.
How to make Chicken in a Biscuit?
Take a mini muffin pan and spray with some cooking spray (Photo 1) Tear each biscuit into 3 pieces and push each one down in individual muffin slots (Photo 2) repeat for all the muffin slots
Take a frozen chicken bite and push down in muffin tin on top of biscuit dough (Photo 3) and repeat for each muffin tin. Then put into the oven
Tips for this recipe
- About 6 minutes into cooking this take these out of the oven and push down each chicken bite more into the biscuit. They tend to rise because of the biscuit cooking.
- Serve with your favorite gravy recipe or buy some premade kind.
- This would also be great with some drizzled honey on top.
- Don’t use too much biscuit dough or the biscuit will completely push the chicken out.
