Whipped Feta

Sharing is caring!

This whipped feta is so simple to make and tastes amazing. Only 3 ingredients and a few minutes and you have a great tasting appetizer.

If you haven’t been able to tell from my previous posts I’m kind of obsessed with whipped feta. It is one of the simplest recipes to make and tastes so freaking good.

Having whipped feta alone on some toasted baguette bread is basically the same as heaven on earth. Adding some bruschetta like this recipe for Mediterranean bruschetta makes it that much better.

What is Feta Cheese?

Feta cheese is a a salty curd cheese originating from Greece made with either sheep, cow or goat milk or a combination of all 3. Traditionally though being made of sheep’s milk

Since it is a crumbly cheese it is great to use in salads, on pizzas or in appetizers such as this olive tapenade or this Mediterranean dip.

How to make whipped Feta

Start by letting both of your cheeses set out at least for 30 minutes. Then add the cream cheese to a food processor (Photo 1). Next add the feta cheese to the processor (Photo 2).

Now add the olive oil to the food processor (Photo 3) and put the lid on and blend until you have a nice creamy texture (Photo 4)

How to store whipped feta

In an air tight container you can store this whipped feta for 3 days. So this recipe is great to make the day before and store until you are ready to enjoy.

Be sure and take the whipped feta out of the refrigerator an hour before to soft back up to give it back that fluffy texture.

Tips for this recipe

  • Be sure and let both cheeses set out for at least 30 minutes before blending them together. This will make preparing this so much easier
  • Buy already crumbled feta oppose to a block of feta. Feta crumbles blends much faster in a food processor
  • Serve this with crostini or pita chips alone or accompany it with some bruschetta like this pepperoni bruschetta
  • This whipped feta is also great to spread on flatbread or sandwiches
  • If made ahead of time let it sit out for an hour before serving to get back that fluffy texture
